Energía Real, in collaboration with two other donors, has facilitated the installation of a 23.8kWp solar power plant for the Rehabilitation and Medical Services Center of the Association for People With Cerebral Palsy (APAC) in Mexico City, providing access to renewable energy for the facility.

The solar energy plant, donated by Energía Real and its partners, will generate approximately 36MWh of electricity annually, covering 60% of the center's consumption. This initiative will enable APAC to reduce its carbon footprint by displacing 16t of CO2 per year, equivalent to the average annual consumption of 23 Mexican homes.

Guadalupe Maldonado, Director General, APAC, expressed gratitude for the donation, emphasizing its impact on the organization's ability to provide care. "With the savings generated by this contribution, APAC will be able to hire a new orthopedics specialist to provide care to children who use our exoskeletons to improve their motor skills."

The APAC Rehabilitation and Medical Services Center, located in the Doctores neighborhood, offers various therapies and courses to enhance the quality of life for individuals with cerebral palsy. The economic savings from the solar plant will enable APAC to extend its services to more families affected by cerebral palsy.

Santiago Villagómez, Founder and Director General, Energía Real, emphasized the company's commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility, Villagómez stated, "The installation of this center will translate into benefits for more patients and their families, who today fight for a better quality of life."

The solar panels were installed on the building's roof, supported by an elevated aluminum structure, as part of a landscaping project to enhance the facility's amenities. Additionally, the panels will provide shade for a new basketball court and other recreational areas, allowing beneficiaries to engage in outdoor activities.
