Mexico's CFE TEIT has partnered with Baicells Technologies, a 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) and 5G New Radio (NR) cellular network infrastructure provider, to bring mobile connectivity to communities nationwide. This collaboration is part of CFE TEIT's "CFE Telecommunications and Internet for All" program, which aims to address the digital divide in Mexico.

"The primary objective of this program is to enhance communications and access to content and educational services with the high-speed connectivity provided by this new network," says Daniel Nieto, Mexico Country Manager, Baicells Technologies. "The success of the partnership with CFE TEIT and our decision to scale local resources showcases the company's long-term commitment to this customer and to this important program."

CFE TEIT recognizes the importance of connecting communities by providing broadband services, especially in rural areas where reliable connectivity is often limited. CFE TEIT has partnered with Baicells Technologies for its outdoor LTE radios, known for their cost-effectiveness and ease of deployment. Baicells Technologies will provide a turnkey solution, including essential infrastructure elements like antennas, cabinets, power, backhaul, and assorted ancillary elements, in addition to its LTE radio network infrastructure.

The solution will use Baicells Technologies' Nova249 outdoor LTE radio, operating on the LTE Band 28 (700 MHz) spectrum. With a power capacity of 2x40W per system, the Nova249 offers extended service reach. The first phase will cover over 100 locations across three southern states in Mexico, with the network expected to go live in 1Q24. The long-term goal is to connect all locations nationwide by the end of 2024.

Baicells Technologies has an office in Mexico City and will continue to scale its local staff to support this national project. In the long term, this office will also serve other activities in Mexico and Central America.
