Progress Continues on New Passenger Rail Routes: SICT
Mexico began construction on four new passenger train routes totaling 785km across the north and center of the country, boosting regional and intercity mobility with modern electric and diesel-electric trains. The projects — Mexico–Queretaro, Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo, Mexico City–Pachuca, and Queretaro–Irapuato — advance the government’s plan to build over 3,000km of rail infrastructure under President Claudia Sheinbaum.
