Technology and retail expert organization GS1 México recognized Grupo Bimbo, Colgate Palmolive, HEB, BBVA, La Comer and Chedraui for implementing best practices and technological innovations to improve operations, strengthen supply chains and provide better customer experiences.

“An innovation leader is an activist capable not only of innovating for themselves, but also of inspiring others and leading a disruptive and promising path, which generates an environment that fosters collaboration and an incubator of new ideas. The future arrived on time; it is time to draw it together,” said Hugo Ruiz, President, GS1 México, during the fourth edition of the Industry-Commerce Collaboration Forum.

Grupo Bimbo and Colgate Palmolive were awarded for the integration of their product catalogs, digital content and audiovisual materials in the Infocode app created by GS1 México. Through this mobile application, customers can learn additional information about products just by scanning a code, while companies can publish all kinds of content including compliance information, manual certificates, videos, recipes, caloric content and special offers, among others.

HEB was recognized for its integration of GS1 México’s Syncfonía electronic catalog using new fields and categories. This solution provides reliable data about a product, including weight, logistics measures and brand, and can be shared with business partners and final customers. Meanwhile, BBVA was awarded for best practices and mass use of the Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) Code, a 20-digit, alpha-numeric code based on the ISO 17442, linked to key reference data that enables clear and unique identification of legal entities participating in financial transactions.

Finally, La Comer and Chedraui were recognized for the monitoring, follow up and best use of AI to secure supplies through GS1 México’s Zero Shortages tool, which provides real-time visibility to existing supply chain issues.

GS1 México is an organization focused on developing e-business innovations. It has established itself as the facilitator of omnichannel commerce and e-commerce, as well as becoming the collaborative meeting point for the development and professionalization of companies, said to MBN Andrea Arozamena, Healthcare Linkage Leader, GS1 Mexico. “We focus on the base of operations because we know that from there, growth will come. GS1 helps develop proportioning methodologies and standardized ways of working so members do not need to worry about the process and can focus on their core mission.”
