Mexican Fuel Retailers Commend Government Dialog
ONEXPO Nacional, the national association representing fuel station operators across Mexico’s 32 states, reiterated its commitment to ongoing collaboration with federal authorities on the development of a stable and sustainable fuel market. The group expressed appreciation for continuous dialog with President Claudia Sheinbaum’s administration and the Ministry of Energy (SENER), focusing on essential issues in the gasoline and diesel sectors.
The association acknowledged the government’s focus on creating a fuel market grounded in energy justice and sector sustainability. The group emphasized its confidence in joint efforts to foster a mature and stable energy market, with active involvement from private sector actors, PEMEX, and federal authorities, ultimately benefiting Mexican consumers.
The association extended its thanks to Minister of Energy Luz Elena González for convening regular working sessions aimed at streamlining administrative and regulatory processes. According to ONEXPO, these efforts are intended to reduce costs, regulatory burdens, and approval times, strengthening legal certainty and operational stability for market participants.
The association also noted the collaborative role played by PEMEX and private companies in safeguarding national fuel supply. The group reaffirmed its commitment to working with federal authorities to combat illicit fuel trade, a practice that undermines market integrity. ONEXPO credited coordinated efforts for leading to historically high volumes of confiscated illegal hydrocarbons.
The organization further highlighted the success of the government’s strategy to stabilize prices of regular gasoline. ONEXPO credited the voluntary participation of fuel retailers and coordinated government action for delivering tangible benefits to consumers. The group pledged to continue supporting established price stabilization mechanisms and contribute to ongoing policy analysis.
