PEMEX aims at opening 200 new service stations this year. As reported by PetrolPlaza, Miguel Yasser Vicente, the company's Transportation Fuels Marketing Coordinator, confirmed this initiative during the Synergía 2024 Forum. This expansion will contribute to expanding the franchise's station network to cover nearly 87% of the market.

The NOC currently holds approximately 82% of the market. Earlier this year, the NOC announced its intentions to push for greater participation. As reported by Milenio, PEMEX has already inaugurated 45 new sites this year. Additionally, the company is awaiting regulatory approval for the opening of approximately 150 more outlets.

"Our recent growth has stemmed from the establishment of new stations and the reclamation of those that have undergone rebranding. We have ventured into various regions of the country to inaugurate new gas stations. Between January and February alone, we have opened 45 stations, and we have around 150 more awaiting regulatory clearance to commence operations in the coming months," explained Yasser.

During the Synergia Forum, Vicente underscored private retailers' preference for the PEMEX brand and its products. This preference has facilitated the recovery of nearly 20% of the gas stations that previously operated under competing brands.
