Mayan Train Inaguration. President Andrés Manuel López Obrador inaugurated the first stage of the Maya Train that goes from Campeche to Cancún. "It gives us great pleasure to be in Campeche, the first part of a project that in total comprises 1554 km."


Security in the Mayan Train. Óscar David Lozano Águila, General Director  of the Mayan Train, said that there are 2,800 elements of the National Guard (GN), drones, security cameras, radios, radio patrols and five helicopters for the security in the Tren Maya. "Security is a priority. We want all Mexicans feel safe and enjoy the new train.”


Tickets for the Mayan Train. The president said he is ensuring that ticket costs are lower than those for regional buses. “We are looking after the pockets of Mexicans.”

Mayan Train tickets were available for purchase from Dec. 1 for travel from Dec. 15. Previously, it was said that the ticket price would be 10% lower than that of buses in the region.
