HCLTech, a leading global technology company, was recognized by the Top Employers Institute for its exemplary HR policies and best practices. This is the second Global Top Employer certification HCLTech has received, demonstrating their unwavering commitment to fostering an inclusive and progressive workplace that empowers individuals to maximize their potential. However, difficulties embedded in preserving a unique company culture during phases of expansion remain.

“We are proud to be named Global Top Employer for the second time in a row. This recognition reflects our commitment to building a workplace that empowers our people and offers them a wide range of opportunities to continuously upskill and explore roles across geographies to fulfill their career aspirations,” said Ramachandran Sundararajan, Chief People Officer, HCLTech.

In Mexico, HCLTech's commitment to cultivating a supportive work environment aligns seamlessly with its global recognition. The company offers skill-based learning opportunities in digital engineering, cloud computing, artificial intelligence and enterprise software. Employees enjoy the freedom to experiment and pivot across roles and functions, contributing to an enriching career experience.

Additionally, in 2022, the company inaugurated its sixth technology development center in Guadalajara, capable of addressing the growing number of cyber threats in an increasingly digitized world. This growing initiative is set to hire 1,300 employees over the next two years, adding to its current workforce of 2,400 people.

However, amid these growth initiatives, concerns arise regarding the potential impact on HCLTech's distinctive culture. Experts at INC. warn that the rapid addition of new talent and shifts in priorities may unintentionally dilute or erase the essence that has long defined the organization. Correspondingly, We Thrive notes that accelerated growth might outpace the ability to maintain individual relationships, potentially leading to a point where personal familiarity within the organization becomes challenging.

To address this challenge, Micky Klein, CEO, Micky Klein Interiors, advises sticking to HCLTech’soriginal core values. According to INC., this measure is crucial to prevent unintended alterations or dilution of the organization's culture. Similarly, Ian Sells, Co-Founder, JoinBrands.com, recommends proactive tools like culture assessments through surveys or focus groups to maintain the organization's cultural integrity.

"Use the feedback to make necessary adjustments, reinforce desired behaviors through recognition and rewards, and integrate the culture into various aspects of the employee life cycle, from recruitment and onboarding to performance evaluations and professional development," suggested Sellers. This consistent attention and reinforcement, he notes, will effectively preserve and strengthen the cohesive culture.
