Q: What opportunities led to the creation of Industrias IONET?

A: Industrias IONET was created with a clear offering for SMEs in the country. Our mission is to develop IT solutions that innovate our clients' business processes. This has had a direct impact on our growth, which came mainly from customer recommendations.

Industrias IONET has three business units: IT services, metal mechanics and contact centers, with IT services being our first and most popular. We eventually decided to open a metal mechanics unit and lastly the contact center division in response to a need we perceived in our IT services unit. Clients guided us toward these offerings but our core business remains IT.

Q: What advantages can you provide to clients as a 100 percent Mexican company?

A: Our priority has always been to provide the client with a direct point of contact so they can communicate their needs to us easily and fast. This personal approach has always helped us to stand out and is one of the reasons why clients tend to prefer us.

We have partnered with companies like Microsoft, HP, Dell, Oracle, IBM, Adobe, Google and most of the largest IT providers. Our partners refer us to clients, we work with them and afterwards the clients provide our partners with feedback of the work we did and refer us to more clients. Our partners then share with us the feedback and statistics of how clients perceive us and so far, we have always received good marks.

Q: How can Industrias IONET better support its clients in the area of IT?

A: Within the private sector, companies sometimes lack knowledge regarding technology advances. Often, clients ask for a service thinking it is the latest technology available when it is not. For that reason, we analyze the client’s needs and provide a personalized solution with different options. Being partnered with large IT providers allows us to offer our clients the best and newest technology.

In the education sector we are committed to education in the country, so we try to benefit our youth and the sector with innovative solutions that are available to everyone.

In the public sector, on the other hand, there is a great deal of bureaucracy and it is very hard to get people out of their comfort zone. In these cases, it is necessary to demonstrate the added value that technology can provide so they can make a decision and change their traditional working model.

Q: How open are companies to incorporate new technology tools in their processes?

A: Convincing them is not the hard part. We have noticed that SMEs tend to be more excited about the opportunities they can get from using technology. Although, many times they depend on a certain budget, our job is to guide and bring the latest technological advances to everyone.

When it comes to IT services, there are two ways of acquiring solutions: through direct acquisition or leasing.  Usually, we try to be flexible with payment schemes . This is also why we have obtained new clients. The idea is to support the industry and create long-term relationships with those companies.

Q: What are the biggest challenges to achieve a comprehensive digital transformation in the country?

A: First of all is to sensitize the client about the benefits of the use of technology. Then, it is necessary to have capable people who can implement the latest technological solutions. Industrias IONET is committed to training. We know that an employee who does not have the appropriate technical capabilities can hardly offer a good solution to customers. So, we continually invest in the training and development of our employees.

Q: What are Industrias IONET’s growth expectations for 2020?

A: SMEs, the education sector and government will continue to be important parts of our portfolio. Still, we are looking for ways to expand among larger companies. Although most of these already have technology providers, we are betting on recommendations from previous clients. We also plan to open offices in Mexico City and in the Monterrey area. Even though we provide services throughout the country, we want to be closer to our clients. We hope to open three new offices by 2022, one in the north of the country, one in the center and one in the south.
