Rappi will discontinue the operations of its RappiCuenta in Mexico starting Feb. 11, 2024. The termination of the Digital savings account is stated not to impact users of RappiCard's credit card services.

While this feature will continue in other operating countries like Colombia and Spain, where  a 12% account yield was recently unveiled, Mexican users are yet to receive further official communication from Rappi providing more information or more instructions.

This change follows the appointment of the new CEO, Ignacio Giraldo, who expressed enthusiasm about entering the RappiPay ecosystem and attracting top Colombian talent to reshape customers' access to financial services.

Platform-wide, Rappi boasts over 30 million active users, offering services like RappiTurbo (deliveries in less than 10 minutes), RappiCard (with financial services) and RappiTravel (airline tickets, accommodations and experiences). Within the RappiCuenta account, users were able to transfer a minimum of MX$50 and a maximum of MX$10,000 to other Rappi accounts or other banking institutions.
