Aeroméxico, in partnership with Delta Air Lines, will launch direct flights between Cancun International Airport and Miami International Airport starting Dec. 19, 2024. This new service will complement its existing offerings in Miami, where it currently operates five daily flights from Mexico City. With the addition of this route, Aeroméxico will operate four routes in Florida, joining its current services to Orlando and Tampa from Mexico's capital.

In total, Aeroméxico will manage approximately 140 arrivals and departures weekly in Florida, providing up to 24,500 seats each week. This expansion is part of the Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCA) with Delta Air Lines, designed to improve connectivity between the two countries, as reported by A21.

Following the launch of the Cancun-Miami route, the Aeroméxico-Delta partnership will serve more than 65 routes between Mexico and the United States. The airlines will jointly operate over 180 flights daily, offering an average of 31,000 seats per day.

Aeroméxico will operate Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft on this route. Each aircraft has a capacity of 166 passengers, including 16 seats in Premier Cabin, 18 in AM Plus, and 132 in Economy Cabin.

Aeroméxico has also begun the process to introduce direct flights between Mexico City and Cartagena, a popular destination gaining traction among Mexican travelers, according to El Economista. The airline has requested to add seven weekly flights to its permit, with Cartagena being Colombia’s third-largest destination for international tourists.
