Embraer has finalized its first US sale of E195‑E2 jets, signing a firm order for 50 aircraft and purchase rights for 50 more with Avelo Airlines. The deal carries a list‑price value of US$4.4 billion, excluding the optional aircraft.

Deliveries are expected between 2027 and 2032. Arjan Meijer, Embraer’s Commercial Aviation CEO, described the deal as a “milestone for Embraer,” highlighting its significance for the E2 program’s US presence. Andrew Levy, Avelo CEO, said the E195‑E2 will complement the airline’s Boeing 737‑800 fleet and eventually replace it in certain roles, particularly at airports with runways under 5,000 feet.

The deal strengthens Embraer’s backlog and expands its US footprint, where “clients buy 45% of Embraer’s commercial planes and 70% of its executive jets,” according to the company. Embraer has also requested removal of a 10% US tariff on aircraft imports, noting that many of its planes rely on US parts.

Both parties cited the E2’s quieter cabin, short‑runway capability, and fuel efficiency as key to expanding Avelo’s operations into new markets. The order positions Embraer to reach production targets amid industrial challenges, reinforcing demand for regional jets in the United States.
