FAA Announces New Orleans Flight Rules for Super Bowl LIX

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has announced temporary flight restrictions (TFRs) and special procedures for general aviation pilots operating in the New Orleans area during Super Bowl LIX, scheduled from Feb. 6-11, 2025.

Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) on February 9, 2025

Duration: The TFR will be in effect on Super Bowl Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. local time.

Restricted Areas:

Core Area: A 10-nautical-mile radius around Caesars Superdome.

Outer Ring: A 30-nautical-mile radius surrounding the core area.

Exemptions: Emergency medical, law enforcement, and military aircraft may enter the restricted area but only with prior coordination with air traffic control.
Additionally, the Super Bowl LIX event will be designated a No Drone Zone as part of heightened security measures for this national security event.
Airports in the New Orleans region, including Louis Armstrong Airport, New Orleans Lakefront, Baton Rouge Metropolitan, Slidell, and Louisiana Regional Executive Port South, will be subject to special procedures from Feb. 6-11, 2025.
