The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER) and the Mexican Milk Federation (FEMELECHE) convened to discuss challenges facing the dairy sector. Topics ranged from climate change and forage availability to production costs, drying processes, and sanitary measures. The aim of these discussions is to enhance productivity, competitiveness, and sustainability within the dairy industry.

Representatives from Aguascalientes, State of Mexico, Chihuahua, Guanajuato, Hidalgo, and Jalisco participated in the working meeting. They emphasized the need to reinforce biosecurity mechanisms to monitor, oversee, and prevent Avian Influenza in bovines, following the first reported case in the United States.

Víctor Villalobos, Minister of Agriculture, reaffirmed SADER’s commitment to an open-door policy for addressing producers' concerns. “Through consensus, we can seek solutions to ensure continued growth and development in primary sector activities, bolstering food security,” he said. Meanwhile, producers and authorities pledged to strengthen efforts to maintain market order, aiming to prevent speculative bubbles that could harm both ranchers' profitability and consumer prices.
