The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADER), the National Water Commission (CONAGUA), the Government of Hidalgo, and agricultural users have signed a collaboration agreement to modernize three irrigation districts in the state of Hidalgo. This initiative is part of the National Agreement for the Human Right to Water and Sustainability, which aligns with the broader commitments of the Fourth Transformation's second phase.

Jesús Vázquez, General Coordinator of the program, described the signing as a historic moment. He emphasized that the program, introduced by President Claudia Sheinbaum, aims to modernize and bring technology to 200,000ha with an investment exceeding MX$40 billion (US$1.9 billion) during this administration. Vázquez highlighted that in Hidalgo, the program would benefit crops such as corn, alfalfa, and vegetables, ensuring food supply stability.

The agreement represents a substantial investment of MX$12 billion, which will be applied gradually. The program will involve the lining of 178km of main channels, 439km of lateral channels, the rehabilitation of 23 wells and pumping stations, the technification of 8,300ha, and the leveling of more than 30,000ha for planting.
