Q: How would you describe Kriptos' current position within the Mexican and Latin American cybersecurity market, particularly in the sensitive data classification sector?
A: We have a strong and growing presence in the Mexican and Latin American market. We have customers in more than 12 countries in the Americas, including large players in the banking and insurance sectors, who have adopted our data protection technology, due to our ability to provide specific solutions in both languages .

Our key advantage is our unique approach to automatic classification and labeling of sensitive data, backed by AI technology optimized for both, Spanish, and English language. While many global solutions fail to capture the complexity of Spanish with the same accuracy, our platform offers a high level of efficiency in Latin American markets. In addition, our ability to discover, classify and analyze risks in data in real time, coupled with a proven track record of successful implementation in critical sectors such as banking and insurance, positions us as a market-leading data protection solution in the region.

Q: Could you share examples of measurable results that Kriptos has delivered to its customers, especially in terms of improved operational efficiency and risk reduction?
A: A representative case is GNP, where we processed millions of documents in just a couple of weeks, giving them full visibility into the number of documents, the users, and the sensitive data involved. This visibility is crucial to initiate an effective data protection strategy. In addition, we have optimized integration with other protection solutions, such as DLP and CASB, allowing GNP to more effectively manage these tools, which significantly improved operational efficiency and reduced the risk associated with the leakage of sensitive information.

Finance and insurance companies have benefited from our solutions, especially those companies with large volumes of unstructured documents. These industries face significant challenges in terms of regulatory compliance, protection of sensitive data and managing the risk associated with the growing volume of information. We have helped these organizations overcome obstacles such as lack of visibility into critical documents and the need to detect and protect personal data in real time, ensuring both compliance with laws and protection against potential information leaks.

Q: How does Kriptos ensure the accuracy of its AI algorithms for the classification of sensitive data?
A: Unlike other solutions that use standard models, we design a custom model for each client, tailored to their document type, business vocabulary and specific data classification policies. This customization process, which takes between two to three weeks, allows us to address the particularities of each industry, as in the case of retail or financial companies, and ensure a higher level of accuracy.

Q: What level of integration with companies' existing IT systems is necessary to ensure that the Kriptos platform works optimally within their technological infrastructure?
A: It varies according to the context and needs of each client. Our platform integrates directly with document storage points, such as local devices (computers and servers) and cloud applications (OneDrive, SharePoint, Google Drive). In Latin America, it is common that a large portion of information is still stored on local devices, with 60% to 70% of data managed outside the cloud. This reality influences the integration strategy, adapting to the level of digital maturity of each company.

Kriptos does not act as a direct protection tool, but complements other cybersecurity solutions such as encryption, Data Loss Prevention (DLP) and CASBIs. These technologies, which our clients already implement, are responsible for applying protection measures to the documents classified by us, a crucial aspect for an effective data leakage prevention strategy, as it ensures that protection is properly applied to the sensitive data identified.

We also integrate with risk management and analysis platforms, such as SIEM systems. These products consolidate information from multiple cybersecurity tools into a single interface, allowing security teams to monitor alerts and manage risks in real time.

We implement advanced security measures when processing documents, storing only non-sensitive metadata and ensuring that sensitive data is classified without compromising privacy. In addition, we use an anonymization and encryption process during the training of our AI model, which allows us to work with confidential data securely, reducing the risk of exposure during mass document processing and ensures that sensitive information is protected at all times.

Q: What trends will have the biggest impact on how companies classify and protect sensitive data?
A: The adoption of Generative AI and large-scale language modeling is transforming the accuracy and efficiency of document classification, allowing us to analyze and tag documents more accurately and improving our ability to determine what information is sensitive. This represents a key advance in data protection, particularly for companies that handle large volumes of information.

In addition, intelligent tagging is expected to gain prominence with the implementation of tools such as Microsoft Copilot. Such solutions can integrate millions of business documents and respond to employee questions based on them. However, its effectiveness will depend on clear labeling that delimits what information can be disclosed according to roles and permissions. Accurate classification will be essential not only to avoid internal leaks, but also to enable the secure implementation of technologies that boost productivity without compromising security.

Q: What are Kriptos' near-term expansion or innovation plans to strengthen its leadership in AI-driven data security management?
A: We are focused on evolving into Insider Threat management, leveraging its ability to classify and tag documents to identify unusual behavior among collaborators. This includes monitoring suspicious activities, such as accessing information outside normal business hours or transferring sensitive data to unusual locations. In addition, we are developing new analytical modules that will help companies identify and mitigate potential internal risks more proactively, thus strengthening their security strategies in 2025.

On the commercial front, we are expanding our distribution network through strategic alliances with companies specializing in cybersecurity. In parallel, the company has strengthened its focus on R&D, working closely with global technology leaders such as Google and Amazon to integrate the latest advances in AI into its products.

Q: For companies that have not yet prioritized document classification and protection, what would you advise executives to keep in mind considering this current digital landscape?
A: It is critical to start by understanding the internal and external threats they face. While external threats are usually covered by standard technologies such as firewalls, internal threats, such as information leakage by employees, represent a significant risk, since more than 60% of employees who leave a company take confidential data with them.

Against this backdrop, the first step should be to establish clear processes and policies that define what information is critical and how to handle it. Only then should the implementation of specific technologies that scale these policies be considered, prioritizing tools that allow the identification and protection of sensitive data within the limits of the available budget.
