Kaspersky Shuts Down US Operations: Cyber Week

Apple Issues Spyware Threat Alert to iPhone Users in 98 Countries

Apple has issued threat notifications to iPhone users in 98 countries, warning of a potential spyware attack. This warning followed a similar notification sent to users in 92 countries in April and turned into the company's second alert campaign in less than six months.

AT&T Confirms Data Breach of 109 Million Accounts

The recent security incident at AT&T, in which data from approximately 109 million US customer accounts was illegally downloaded, has raised concerns in both the telecommunications industry and the cybersecurity arena. Compromised records included call and text message details from 2022, although they did not contain the content of these communications or personal information, such as social security numbers. 

Kaspersky to Close US Operations After National Ban

Kaspersky has announced that it will shut down its US operations and the dismissal of dozens of employees in response to a recent US government order prohibiting the sale of its software due to security concerns.

Starting Jul. 20, Kaspersky will gradually wind down its US operations, stating it has thoroughly evaluated the impact of US legal requirements and concluded that continuing business in the country is no longer feasible.

Google Close to Making Wiz Acquisition

Google's parent company, Alphabet, is in advanced talks to acquire cybersecurity startup Wiz for approximately US$23 billion, potentially marking Google's largest acquisition to date. Wiz, known for its cloud computing cybersecurity software, has attracted Google's interest following a US$1 billion funding round earlier this year.
