Microsoft Mexico will Train Teachers on AI, Cybersecurity
Microsoft Mexico and the PILARES Community Education Subsystem signed an agreement to train over 1,000 teachers in AI and cybersecurity, helping them attain the necessary skills to teach courses and workshops in PILARES’s 16 centers in Mexico City.
"This agreement facilitates certification in cybersecurity and the integration of AI in teaching, skills that are increasingly essential in a world that runs in cyberspace," says Hidalgo Ponce, General Coordinator, PILARES.
The alliance between Microsoft and PILARES responds to the urgent need to train teachers to be able to teach these advanced tools to the population.
The incorporation of AI in education, says PILARES in its press release, will allow students to acquire digital skills that will enable them to compete in an increasingly tech-savvy job market.
"Ensuring access to training in critical generative AI skills will enable everyone to respond quickly to changes in the AI-driven economy," says Rebeca Servín, Director of Legal, Corporate and Philanthropy, Microsoft Mexico.
Through this agreement, over 1,000 teachers will receive specialized training in AI, which will allow them to design and execute practical workshops for PILARES users. Microsoft's training programs will be tailored to various levels of knowledge, as they are part of its global efforts to democratize access to AI skills through professional development opportunities.
PILARES students will also have access to cybersecurity certifications designed in response to the risks arising from the growing dependence on digital technologies. Cybersecurity certifications will be the SC-9000, an accreditation recognized for its focus on data protection capabilities and cyber risk management. These courses will be taught in PILARES cyber schools.
"The collaboration between Microsoft and PILARES represents an important step towards digital inclusion in Mexico, benefiting not only teachers, but also the thousands of students who will have access to these cutting-edge tools," says PILARES in its press release. "This joint effort is expected to boost the adoption of advanced technologies and provide PILARES users with the necessary skills to face the challenges of the future."
