Sonda has reinforced its cybersecurity portfolio for the Mexican market. Its new offering is designed to protect the operational continuity of organizations through managed services, strategic consulting, and a regional cyberdefense infrastructure, addressing the rising complexity and frequency of digital threats.

“Digital threats evolve rapidly and demand a proactive approach. Our goal is to protect the operational continuity and reputation of our clients, helping them to operate with confidence in this new digital era,” says Oscar Bouquet, Director of Cybersecurity, Sonda Mexico.

Sonda's decision follows the boom in cybercrime, which now represents one of the three most lucrative economies. Projections from Cybersecurity Ventures estimate that the associated cost of this activity will reach US$10.5 trillion annually in 2025.

At the corporate level, the need for external solutions is heightened by two critical internal factors. According to Security Magazine, 67% of organizations lack the specialized human talent to meet their security requirements. Furthermore, data from Verizon reveals that 68% of security breaches originate from human error or social engineering attacks. This combination of a sophisticated threat environment and internal vulnerabilities drives the demand for managed cybersecurity services.

This trend is reflected in investment projections. According to IDC, spending on security technology in Latin America will increase by 12.2% through 2025 as “global cyberthreats rise.” For Sonda, which has operated in Mexico for two decades and considers the country its third-largest market after Brazil and Chile, this investment in cybersecurity is a strategic move aligned with the market's increasing digitization.

Sonda's proposition is built on a five-pillar methodological framework: identify, protect, detect, respond, and recover. This strategy is executed through a portfolio of services and solutions designed to offer complete coverage of the security lifecycle. The main components of the offering include:

  • 24/7 Managed Services: Continuous operation for system monitoring, real-time threat detection, incident management, and response and forensic analysis capabilities to investigate security breaches.

  • Strategic Consulting: Services focused on governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), ensuring the alignment of security strategies with local and international regulations. This allows organizations not only to protect themselves but also to demonstrate regulatory conformity.

  • Solutions for IT, OT and Cloud Environments: Implementation of modern security architectures such as Zero Trust and Secure Access Service Edge (SASE), designed to protect hybrid infrastructures that encompass IT, OT, and cloud environments.

  • Offensive and Specialized Services: Execution of controlled penetration tests (pentesting), adversary attack simulations, and virtual Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) services. These proactive actions allow for the identification and mitigation of vulnerabilities before they are exploited.

  • Regional Cyberdefense Infrastructure: The offering is supported by a regional security operations center, a team of over 100 certified specialists and strategic alliances with 40 global technology manufacturers. This regional capability, backed by strategic data centers in Chile, Brazil, and Colombia, enables the delivery of robust and scalable services.

This portfolio consolidation aligns with the company's vision that cybersecurity has transcended its traditional function to become a business enabler. “At Sonda, we understand that cybersecurity is no longer an isolated area but a key enabler for sustainable business growth. For this reason, we offer solutions designed not only to protect but to generate value,” Bouquet says. The strategy aims to position Sonda as a technological integrator that accompanies its clients in their transformation process, ensuring operational continuity and the protection of critical data in a business environment that is increasingly dependent on technology.
