Chihuahua Unveils Energy Development Program
Chihuahua Governor Maru Campos presented the Strategic Program of the State Energy Development Agency (AEDE), aimed at positioning the state as a frontrunner in energy production and management. The governor discussed the significance of sustainable energy development as a crucial lever for economic growth and enhancing the quality of life for all residents of Chihuahua.
The program features the Energy Territorial Planning Outline, which identifies and harnesses the state's potential for energy generation from sources such as solar, wind, hydrocarbons, biomass, and geothermal. Additionally, it includes the Balance and Energy Prospective of the State of Chihuahua 2024, providing insights into current conditions and reliable estimates for the years ahead. “These actions add to the advances that Chihuahua has made in energy matters, including its 7,800km of gas pipelines and 900km of polyducts, the 20 electric power generation plants, in addition to the more than 13,100km of transmission lines,” emphasized Campos.
Governor Campos highlighted the creation of investment opportunities in the energy sector and emphasized the government's commitment to implementing strategies and projects that positively impact the population.
Ulises Fernández Gamboa, Minister of Innovation and Development, emphasized that establishing a sustainable energy model lays the groundwork for investment opportunities in Chihuahua while respecting the resources of each municipality. Lastly, Luis Carlos Hernández Ayala, Director, State Development Agency, expressed gratitude to the governor for prioritizing sustainable energy development in Chihuahua.
