The Confederation of National Chambers of Commerce, Services, and Tourism (CONCANACO-Servytur) has reached an agreement with SENER to simplify and expedite procedures related to various forms of electricity generation.

This agreement aims to establish direct channels between CONCANACO and SENER to facilitate procedures in different modalities of electricity generation, including small-scale generation installed near consumption sites, distributed generation, and assisted generation.

According to CONCANACO, the direct communication channel with SENER will simplify procedures for distributed generation, assisted generation, import permits, and Social Impact Assessments (EVIS). Additionally, the confederation will provide training support and develop a guiding document to streamline these processes for companies.

As part of the agreement, CONCANACO and SENER will collaborate on the development of a guide to facilitate the acquisition of permits for isolated generation projects. Octavio de la Torre, President, CONCANACO-Servytur, emphasized the importance of leveraging industry relocation opportunities and nearshoring initiatives. To support this, CONCANACO plans to compile a list of electricity generation projects to attract investments, and it will seek financial assistance from institutions such as the World Bank and NAFIN.
