Veracruz Forms Economic, Port, and Energy Councils
The government of Veracruz has established three new councils focused on economic development, port administration, and energy advancement as part of a broader effort to promote sustainable growth in the state.
Governor Rocío Nahle García and Minister of Economic Development and Ports Ernesto Pérez Astorga announced the formation of the State Economic Council, the Administration Council for the Veracruz Port System (API), and the State Energy Agency Council. These bodies will coordinate key actions to boost investment, modernize infrastructure, and drive energy innovation.
The State Economic Council will focus on attracting private investment, offering business incentives, and developing regional economic strategies aimed at job creation and strengthening Veracruz’s commercial position.
The Administration Council for the Veracruz Port System will work to optimize port operations, emphasizing the role of ports as strategic drivers for national and international trade. Governor Nahle highlighted the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors in decision-making processes.
Lastly, the State Energy Agency Council will support energy projects prioritizing both investment and environmental protection. This initiative seeks to position Veracruz as a leader in Mexico's energy transition.
