Amazon Mexico has launched Amazon Access, a new digital account developed in partnership with INVEX Banco and Mastercard. The account allows users to manage funds directly through Amazon’s shopping app and is designed with no commissions or minimum balance requirements.

Initially released to a limited group of customers, the account is issued by INVEX Banco and does not require visiting a physical branch. Users can open an account via the Amazon app and receive a digital card, with the option to request a physical card at no additional cost. The card can be used both on and off the Amazon platform.

Pedro Huerta, director, Amazon Mexico, said the account reflects the company’s focus on financial and technological inclusion. He noted that Amazon Access eliminates the need for in-person banking procedures and enables users to manage income and expenses from their phones. He also highlighted that Amazon is among the first technology-based commission agents approved by the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBV).

Account holders can deposit and withdraw cash at more than 30,000 physical locations, including convenience stores and ATMs. Features include real-time notifications, card blocking capabilities, and customer service available every day of the week.

Jean Marc Mercier, CEO, INVEX Grupo Financiero, said the partnership supports the institution’s commitment to sustainable digital banking and secure technology-driven solutions.

As part of its promotional strategy, Amazon Access users will receive three free months of Amazon Prime. Additional Mastercard-powered offers include two-for-one cinema deals and transportation discounts.

Mauricio Schwartzmann, country manager, Mastercard Mexico, said the initiative aims to expand financial inclusion and contribute to more equitable economic growth in Mexico.
