Washington-based private equity firm ACON Investments has agreed to sell its majority stake in Amfora Packaging, a key player in Latin America’s beauty and personal care packaging sector, to sustainable cosmetic packaging leader Albéa Group. The deal highlights growing international investment interest in Latin America’s manufacturing and export capabilities in the cosmetics industry.

“We are proud of how the Amfora team institutionalized two formerly independent family businesses into a unified export-oriented company serving top clients across Latin America, North America, and the European Union,”  says Alberto Hernández, Partner, ACON Investments. “The company is well positioned for its next growth phase under Albéa’s management.”

This sale follows ACON Investments’s recent exit from Vitalis, another portfolio company in Colombia. ACON Investments has invested in 44 companies across 10 Latin American countries during its 29 years operating in the region. The firm manages US$7.2 billion in assets globally with offices in the United States, Latin America, and the European Union.
