DKT Introduces SilverCare Mini, a Hormone-Free IUD in Mexico
DKT LATAM Norte introduced SilverCare Mini, a hormone-free intrauterine device (IUD) designed to provide up to five years of contraceptive protection. The product combines silver and copper in its core to enhance durability and prevent fragmentation, representing the company’s latest initiative to expand access to safe and affordable reproductive health options in Mexico.
“True freedom also lies in being able to choose how to take care of yourself,” says Denisse Beltrán, Marketing Director, DKT LATAM Norte. SilverCare Mini targets women who prefer non-hormonal contraception or who have smaller uteruses, including those who have not been pregnant. Its compact, anatomical design allows for easier insertion and improved comfort.
According to DKT, SilverCare Mini achieves over 99% effectiveness when inserted by a qualified health professional. The device can be placed under local anesthesia and does not alter hormonal balance, offering an alternative to traditional contraceptive pills or hormone-based IUDs.
The organization says that the product’s affordability aligns with its mission to reduce barriers to modern contraception. DKT LATAM Norte operates under DKT International, a nonprofit focused on sexual and reproductive health education, social marketing, and the distribution of contraceptive products across multiple regions.
Founded on the principle that reproductive choice is essential to public health, DKT has developed a range of initiatives that combine awareness campaigns with product availability. SilverCare Mini’s introduction supports this strategy by targeting an underserved segment of women seeking reliable, long-term, hormone-free methods.
SilverCare Mini is available through DKT’s health clinics in Mexico City, as well as reproductive health centers and specialized physicians across the country. The company encourages users to seek professional medical advice before choosing any contraceptive method.
