Eztli, a collaboration between Dow, Mexfam, Hulsi, Smurfit-Westrock, and Fondo Unido México, aims to improve menstrual health and promote the inclusion of women in marginalized communities. The initiative donates menstrual cups and raises awareness about menstrual hygiene to increase access among women in need.

Mexico's National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (CONEVAL) estimates that 38 million women menstruate each month in the country, with 42% of them living in poverty. These women face significant barriers to accessing menstrual health products, which impacts their education, health, and overall well-being, writes Dow on Facebook.

Dow provides the raw materials for producing menstrual cups at no cost, while Hulsi manufactures the cups, ensuring their affordability and safety. Smurfit-Westrock donates the packaging, and Mexfam, along with Fondo Unido México, leads the educational campaigns on menstrual health and sexual wellness in vulnerable communities.

The project has assembled 80,000 menstrual cup kits. These will be distributed for free to women in need. The third volunteer event focused on packing the final 8,000 kits, which will be delivered by Mexfam.

Menstrual cups, among other benefits, have a low environmental impact, as they are reusable and have a lifespan of six to 15 years. This durability significantly reduces waste.
