Médica Sur, IMSS CMN SXXI: Leading Hospitals in Mexico

The Newsweek’s World's Best Hospitals 2024 ranking offers a comprehensive evaluation of healthcare institutions globally, encompassing 2,400 hospitals across 30 countries. Among the top medical facilities recognized this year was Mexico's Hospital Médica Sur and IMSS - Centro Médico Nacional Siglo XXI (CMN SXXI), showcasing their commitment to excellence in patient care.

“With so much at stake for individuals and institutions, reliable data is key. The Newsweek-Statista rankings provide crucial insights for patients, families and health care executives looking for profiles of an industry that will generate US$4.24 trillion worldwide in 2024,” said Nancy Cooper, Global Editor in Chief, Newsweek.

The ranking also recognizes the 250 leading hospitals for their innovative use of (Artificial Intelligence) AI to drive medical breakthroughs, as reported by Newseek. Institutions like Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Cleveland Clinic, and Toronto General - University Health Network lead the global ranking, setting a high standard for medical research.

In collaboration with the International Consortium for Health Outcomes Measurement (ICHOM), Statista has played a pivotal role in shaping this year's ranking. ICHOM, brings its expertise to ensure the integrity and relevance of the assessment, aligning it with the principles of value-based healthcare, according to Cooper.

Scores in the ranking are meticulously calculated, taking into account various factors such as peer recommendation, patient experience, hospital quality metrics, and the implementation of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs). While scores facilitate comparisons within a country, they may not be directly comparable across different nations due to variations in data sources and methodologies.

Mexico's healthcare landscape is prominently featured in the rankings, with several notable institutions achieving positions of distinction. Leading the list of Mexican hospitals is Hospital Médica Sur, with a score of 93.80%, demonstrating its commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Following closely is IMSS CMN SXXI with a score of 92.97% . Other notable institutions include Centro Médico ABC Campus Santa Fe, IMSS - Centro Medico Nacional La Raza, Centro Médico ABC - Campus Observatorio, and Hospitales Ángeles - Lomas, Christus Muguerza - Alta Especialidad, among others.
