Pfizer Mexico Names Juan Luis Morell as New General Director
Pfizer Mexico announced the appointment of Juan Luis Morell as its new General Director. Starting on July 1, 2024 , Morell will assume this pivotal role in the leading healthcare company.
"I appreciate the trust placed in me to lead this great team; I have a deep sense of commitment to continue driving our mission of bringing health and well-being to every corner of the country, ensuring that our patients continue to receive treatments and vaccines of the highest quality," writes Morell on his LinkedIn profile.
Morell has over 23 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including leading various therapeutic areas and business segments in Pfizer Mexico and Latin America, as reported by Pfizer.
“I have been fortunate to lead projects that have strengthened our commitment to public health in Mexico and, in this career, I have witnessed the incredible commitment and dedication of our Mexican talent,” writes Morell.
Under his leadership, Pfizer Mexico successfully introduced an oral antiviral treatment in Mexico to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. He also implemented an innovative commercial model in Latin America, expanding vaccine access and availability in the region. The launch in Mexico's private sector protected millions of people against the virus, writes Morell in LinkedIn.

2024 marks a significant year for Pfizer as it celebrates its 175th anniversary globally. In Mexico, Pfizer's journey began in 1960 with the inauguration of research laboratories. Its commitment to the country continued with the opening of corporate offices in Mexico City in 2000, culminating in Pfizer becoming the top biopharmaceutical company in Mexico by 2003.
