Chihuahua Boasts of New Airport, Enhanced Infrastructure
Mexico's Minister of Tourism, Miguel Torruco Marqués, inaugurated the Barrancas del Cobre Airport as part of his tour of Chihuahua. The airport has been in the works for almost ten years and involved an investment of MX$858 million (US$50.9 million). This airport connects Creel, Chihuahua, with several prominent destinations within Mexico and the US and is expected to start operations in October 2023.

Cargo thefts are on the rise in Michoacan, making the state the third in cargo theft in Mexico. Héctor Tejada, President, CONCANACO SERVYTUR, called for swift action to address cargo theft in the Siglo XXI Highway, which crosses Guerrero and Michoacan, The highway is experiencing a surge in thefts, which is threatening Mexico's economy and supply chains since it is one of the most important roads for the movement of goods and tourism, with up to 6,000 vehicles using it daily.
