Luca Mining has confirmed that operations at its Tahuehueto Gold Project in Durango, are continuing normally following a routine inspection by PROFEPA. The review, part of standard environmental oversight, assessed the project’s compliance with its MIA.

During the inspection, PROFEPA requested clarification on a small, inactive legacy area previously used for tailings storage near the processing plant. This area is no longer operational and does not impact ongoing mining or processing activities.

A temporary closure notice was issued for this 0.3ha inactive section pending updated technical documentation. Luca Mining plans to submit a remediation plan that will not affect current operations. “Environmental compliance and transparency are central to Luca Mining’s operations,” said Ramón Pérez, President, Luca Mining. “The notice applies only to a non-operational area and does not impact production. We continue to collaborate constructively with PROFEPA and SEMARNAT.”

Luca Mining continues normal operations at both the Tahuehueto and Campo Morado mines, advancing production, optimization, and sustainability initiatives.
