Mexico's Mining Production Down 0.9% in November 2024
Mexico’s mining production reported a 0.9% decrease in November 2024 compared to the previous month, according to INEGI’s data. Despite a monthly decrease, year-on-year, mining production grew by 1.8%.
According to INEGI’s Minerometallurgical Industry Statistics (EIMM), in November 2024, the country’s mining production stood at 77.6 points, reflecting a monthly decline of 0.9% but an annual increase of 1.8%.
EIMM showed year-over-year growth in zinc at 13.1%, copper at 11.5%, silver at 2.1%, and lead at 0.6%. In contrast, production declined in fluorite by 0.8%, non-coking coal by 1.3%, gypsum by 1.3%, gold by 8.6%, and iron pellets by 11.9%. Sulfur saw the largest decrease at 32.9%.
