Q: What characteristics have propelled ExxonMobil’s success in Latin America and Mexico?

A: ExxonMobil has historically been a world leader in energy. We operate in over 100 countries and have 145 years of experience. We have almost 80 years in the Mexican lubricants business. Throughout this time, we have worked closely with various segments of the industry, especially the mining sector.

ExxonMobil has been a strategic partner to the country's largest mining groups for 50 years. We work closely with them, understanding their operations and respecting their expertise. Our strength lies not only in offering the best product technology, but also in providing services that ensure that mining experts receive the support they need to increase productivity and long-term sustainability. For example, we recently added ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions, which offers customers a wide range of options to reduce emissions in their operations.

Q: What needs does ExxonMobil see in the lubricants market, and how is the company incorporating innovation into its portfolio?

A: The mining industry has seen significant changes, which evolve over time. Mining is a demanding industry that can also pose risks to people. ExxonMobil has focused on training and technology development to ensure that we align with our mining clients' objectives. For example, mines aim to maximize productivity in the amount of minerals moved per day, month, or year, often with limited resources and existing equipment. Mine operators seek strategic partners to help them operate at the best cost and highest productivity, while ensuring zero failures and increasing safety and sustainability. We address these aspects to offer the tailor-made solutions our customers need.

For example, oil changes are often necessary every 350 hours. But, at the recent International Mining Forum, we introduced the MOBIL DELVAC MODERN MINE SERIES, which extends these intervals to 500-1,000 hours. This means that a truck that previously underwent three oil changes per year can now manage with just one. This enhances productivity by keeping the truck operational and improves safety while minimizing environmental impact by reducing waste oil disposal. Similarly, lubricants such as Mobil SHC 46 and 22M for large-scale mining equipment, like crushers or mills, can withstand extreme conditions while protecting components, increasing mine productivity, and saving energy.

Q: How does the company's experience and expertise in various sectors contribute to enhancing ExxonMobil's offerings for the mining sector?

A: ExxonMobil's extensive experience and deep industry knowledge play a key role in the continuous improvement of our offer for various sectors. In mining, our years of experience have enabled us to develop specialized lubrication solutions that optimize performance and efficiency, including lubricants for engines that power small trucks and massive mining equipment and industrial lubricants used in critical processes such as metalworking.

Q: What are ExxonMobil's plans for this year, and how do you expect to measure success in the mining market?

A: At the International Mining Forum, we launched two products that are used in several mines across Mexico: MOBIL DELVAC MODERN ADVANCED PROTECTION MINE. We are collaborating closely with mining experts and our team of engineers to ensure that we have measurable results in terms of productivity and sustainability. Once these results are available, our priority is to ensure that all mining clients are aware of how our products can support their goals.

We are excited by the growing presence of international companies in Mexico’s automotive and diesel sectors. There will be a growing need for logistics and transportation, which is where we have come in to provide the lubricants and fuels needed.

Q: What are ExxonMobil's expectations with the upcoming change of government in Mexico?

A: Despite potential political changes, ExxonMobil remains steadfast in its commitment to support Mexico's growth and development. Our commitment to Mexico goes beyond our presence; it involves respecting regulations, working closely with authorities, and fostering an environment conducive to sustainable growth. Our long-standing presence in Mexico provides us with invaluable knowledge and experience, enabling us to adapt to changing circumstances while providing innovative and sustainable solutions. In the mining industry, we strive to provide our partners with the tools and resources they need to improve productivity and environmental responsibility.
