The Hidalgo Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (SADERH) has partnered with CEMEX to advance sustainability and agricultural development through a joint initiative at the company’s Atotonilco de Tula plant.

As part of the program, SADERH Secretary Napoleón González Pérez and plant director Daniel Cano oversaw the delivery of maguey seedlings to promote sustainable land management and environmental preservation in the region. The officials also toured the plant’s green infrastructure, which includes a nursery, orchard, gardens, a bee hotel, and a butterfly sanctuary.

González Pérez highlighted the value of private-sector collaboration in addressing sustainability challenges. “We care about the countryside and Hidalgo, which is why we work closely with responsible companies, uniting the efforts of state, federal, and municipal governments,” he said.

The initiative supports the state’s broader sustainability strategy, promoted by Governor Julio Menchaca, which emphasizes cooperation among government, business, and civil society to benefit communities while safeguarding natural resources.
