Mexico City continues to lead in formal job creation and has made significant strides in labor dispute resolution, according to the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion. Women still face important barriers to senior leadership positions, with unequal pay being an important contributor.

Mexico City has made significant advances in resolving labor conflict dispute cases and continues to lead the nation in formal job creation, according to a press release by the Ministry of Labor and Employment Promotion (STFE). This is expected to continue in the coming months despite anxieties of an economic slowdown.

IBM to Slow Hiring to See What Jobs AI Can Take Over 

In anticipation that some jobs can and will be replaced by artificial intelligence in the near future, IBM's CEO, Arvind Krishna, shared that the company expects to pause hiring, according to Bloomberg reporting. “I could easily see 30% of [ internal jobs] getting replaced by AI and automation over a five-year period.” 

 

Google Announces Scholarships in Latin America

Google Mexico reported an update on its Google Career Certificates. Ramiro Germán Sánchez, Marketing Director and Leader of Social Impact Projects in LATAM, Google, presented the new strategies aimed at boosting training in the region.
