LinkedIn has launched its first AI tool, Hiring Assistant, designed to transform the recruitment process. Currently in pilot testing and set for a broad release next year, this tool aims to ease recruiters' workloads by automating repetitive tasks, ultimately enhancing efficiency and personalizing the recruitment experience.

Hiring Assistant streamlines recruitment by automating time-consuming tasks such as building candidate pipelines, managing applicant reviews, and handling inquiries. By reducing the administrative burden, it enables recruiters to focus on more strategic responsibilities. “Recruiters can choose to delegate time-consuming tasks to Hiring Assistant, including finding candidates and assisting in applicant review,” said Hari Srinivasan, Vice President of Product, LinkedIn.

This allows recruiters to concentrate on the most strategic, people-centric parts of their job, such as advising hiring managers, connecting with candidates, and creating exceptional candidate experiences. Srinivasan emphasizes that recruiters will remain active in the process by providing feedback that refines Hiring Assistant’s suggestions and personalization capabilities.

According to LinkedIn, personalization is key to enhancing candidate engagement because it tailors each interaction to each individual’s needs. The tool offers features that customize outreach, interview experiences, and feedback, demonstrating a genuine interest in candidates’ backgrounds and career aspirations. By providing timely updates and encouraging open communication, Hiring Assistant fosters a sense of connection and respect between recruiters and candidates. This personalized approach not only makes candidates feel valued but also strengthens the organization's employer brand, which is crucial for attracting top talent, as highlighted by LinkedIn.

The Hiring Assistant is also capable of analyzing job postings to identify the specific qualifications needed for each role. After determining these criteria, the tool scans LinkedIn profiles to find and suggest candidates who match those requirements, allowing recruiters to quickly build a pool of pre-qualified applicants. Additionally, the tool connects to past applicant records, enabling recruiters to consider previous candidates, which makes the search process faster and more comprehensive.

Organizations around the globe are increasingly embracing skills-based hiring practices, moving away from traditional degree requirements to prioritize skills, experiences, and potential. This shift is motivated by the need to fill open positions effectively and enhance employee retention, as reported by MBN. Furthermore, the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) highlights that skills-based hiring minimizes training costs and reduces onboarding time for the companies.

With Hiring Assistant, LinkedIn is not just streamlining recruitment; it is setting a new standard for personalized candidate engagement, ultimately transforming how organizations attract and retain top talent. The Hiring Assistant is currently available to LinkedIn’s internal recruiters and select pilot customers, with plans for a full rollout next year. Pricing details have not yet been disclosed.
