Think Academy has unveiled the Thinkpal Tablet, an educational device aimed at addressing the challenges students face. With test scores in reading and math declining globally, and parents struggling to rekindle children's enthusiasm for education, Think Academy presents a tailored, AI-driven approach that aims to bridge these gaps.

Education in developing countries faces four persistent challenges, including a worsening learning crisis driven by COVID-19, neglect of early childhood education, a shortage of qualified teachers, and limited use of evidence-based policies, as reported by The World Bank. These issues undermine student outcomes and long-term economic prospects.

In Mexico, 11.6% of children and adolescents aged three to 17 faced educational lag in 2022, as 3.8 million were not attending school or lacked mandatory education, according to CONEVAL’s poverty measurement report for 2016-2022.

Think Academy aims to provide a tool that leverages technology to transform education, aiming to make learning more accessible, engaging, and effective for students worldwide, according to Avantika University.

"We designed the Thinkpal Tablet to address the biggest challenges faced by students and families in education today. Our mission is to provide every child with a personalized, world-class tutor that inspires confidence and a lifelong love for learning," says Yujing Sun, General Manager, Think Academy.

Central to the tablet's functionality is "GeniusTutor," an AI-powered system built on Microsoft's Azure OpenAI GPT-4o model. This tool provides real-time feedback and guidance to help students navigate complex academic tasks. Features include step-by-step explanations for math problems, interactive writing prompts with instant feedback, and vocabulary-building tools like "Point-and-Discover," which allows children to point to words in physical books for instant explanations and guided exercises.

The Thinkpal Tablet also incorporates "Thinkie," an AI-based learning companion designed to engage children through voice interactions. Using advanced speech recognition and text-to-speech technology, Thinkie aims to answer questions and create a dynamic educational experience. The tablet also offers an extensive library of ebooks and gamified coursework. It is compatible with widely used platforms like Google Classroom.
