The regular use of AI in workplaces across Mexico increased marginally over the past year, rising from 26% to 28%, according to Randstad’s Employer Brand Research 2025. While the growth in adoption appears modest, the perceived impact of AI has expanded significantly, suggesting broader organizational and cultural shifts, argues the company.

More than a quarter of Mexican employees now frequently incorporate AI into their work routines. Compared to last year, nearly twice as many respondents believe AI is already influencing how they perform their jobs. This trend indicates that AI is increasingly shaping daily workflows and potentially redefining how employees experience and perceive work.

“Employers should take advantage of this positive sentiment and communicate the potential benefits that AI can bring to the workplace,” reads the report,  highlighting that general perception of AI improved by 4% year over year.

Generational differences influence adoption patterns. Generation Z saw the largest increase in AI use, climbing seven percentage points to overtake Millennials as the most active users. In contrast, Millennials registered a slight decline in usage, down 1%, while 36% of Generation X reported never having used AI, compared to 25% of Millennials and 20% of Generation Z.

Despite these usage gaps, most employees share a consistent outlook on the future impact of AI. Even among those who use it less often, a growing number believe AI is already influencing their jobs. This suggests that AI’s role in the workplace is becoming more visible and influential across generational lines, regardless of frequency of use, says Randstad.

Occupational differences also persist. AI usage is more common among professionals, 34% of whom report regular use, compared to 26% of operational staff. Likewise, 50% of professionals expect AI to significantly impact their work in the future, while only 44% of operational employees share that view.
