Ericsson aims to continue driving technological innovation in Mexico with the opening of its new office in Mexico City. With a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency, this facility promises to be a center for the development of national projects and a meeting point for the latest trends in technology, thus reinforcing its social commitment and its purpose of driving the national digital transformation.

Ericsson Mexico, with more than 120 years of existence, continues to expand, reflecting its long-term development commitment to the country, according to Country Manager, Fabían Monge. In this context, the establishment of a new office in Mexico City's Technoparque Corporate Center is poised to strengthen Ericsson's capacity for innovation by centralizing coordination of national projects across its five locations nationwide and among its workforce of over 2,500 professionals.

Fredrik Jejdling, Executive Vice President and Head of Networks at Ericsson, officially inaugurated the new office and reiterated the company's unwavering commitment to Mexico and its ongoing digital transformation.. "The opening of our new office is a testament to our long-standing commitment to Mexico and our ambition to drive the development and adoption of 5G technologies across the region," said Jejdling.

The new offices are designed according to Ericsson's "The Future of Hybrid and Flexible Work" scheme, which prioritizes sustainability, wellness, and accessibility within the premises. Featuring an energy-efficient infrastructure encompassing automated lighting, air conditioning, and energy management systems, these offices have achieved the highest level of recognition for sustainability and energy efficiency: LEED Platinum certification, awarded by the US Green Building Council.

In addition, they have earned a three-star certification from Fitwell, the certification system specializing in sustainable construction, and the highest rating from Todo Accessible, a company focused on eliminating barriers to the integration of all people regardless of their physical or mental diversities, underscoring their commitment to "health, productivity and universal accessibility."

Visitors to the new offices will also have the opportunity to experience the latest technologies and industry trends in the Ericsson Imagine Studio, an experience center where, according to the company's press release, visitors will be able to see first-hand how “Ericsson solutions make the unimaginable possible”.

Ericsson declared Mexico's pivotal role in Latin America as a frontrunner in the adoption of 5G, an arena in which the Swedish company has played a central role. With a footprint in 78 out of the 125 cities where 5G is presently accessible, Ericsson has collaborated closely with local governments to spearhead the integration of this transformative technology. The Federal Telecommunications Institute (IFT) has hailed this effort as "a catalyst for economic growth".

Ericsson's social commitment is further reflected in partnerships with institutions such as the IFT, the Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (ITESM), and the Colombian Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). These collaborations have led to the implementation of the Ericsson Educate program and 5G University, aimed at fostering digital skills in communities across Mexico and contributing to the mitigation of the national digital divide.

"We believe that 5G and digital inclusion are two sides of the same coin, and we are committed to ensuring that Mexico and the wider Latin American region are not left behind in the digital revolution," said Monge.
