Tata Consulting Solutions (TCS) opened its ninth facility in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon. The inauguration was attended by Minister of Foreign Affairs Marcelo Ebrard, Governor of Nuevo Leon Samuel García and Mayor of Monterrey Luis Donaldo Colosio.

The inauguration of the new office on May 31 symbolizes a substantial financial commitment undertaken by the corporation. The technology company, which operates as a subsidiary of India's largest conglomerate, is expected to strengthen Mexico’s IT sector and promote cooperation between the two countries.

“The opening of the new TCS offices in Monterrey occurs at a key moment to continue strengthening the economy of ideas and data in Mexico. Our alliance with India is the fruit of a common blueprint for the future, a vision of well-being and aggregate growth for all,” says Ebrard.

According to Rajeev Gupta, Head of LATAM, TCS, the new plant is projected to generate around 2,500 job openings in Nuevo Leon and other parts of Mexico. Additionally, Colosio emphasized the state's aspiration to transform into the primary business center of the country.

“Tata Consultancy Services reaches the society of the future, companies like this are the perfect ally of Nuevo Leon in promoting entrepreneurship and new technologies. TCS manages to generate impactful jobs that transform families and raise quality-of-life standards. Welcome Tata Consultancy Services, it can count on the state and the municipality so this is the beginning of more jobs in the medium and long term,” says García.

In a similar manner to TCS, HCL opened its sixth center in Guadalajara in 2022, leading to the creation of 1,300 jobs in Mexico, with plans to increase that number to 2,400. The presence of Indian companies in Mexico is influenced by the cultural resonance and shared values between the two countries, as well as Mexico's advantageous geographical proximity to both Latin and North America. Moreover, Mexico's favorable conditions for reinvestment of capital, including attractive incentives and opportunities, facilitate business expansion and the generation of additional employment prospects.

During its hiring process in the region, TCS is actively looking for individuals with expertise and proficiency in various fields such as data analytics, cloud computing, mobility, business intelligence, artificial intelligence (AI), digital twins and machine learning.
