UNAM, Huawei Renew Cybersecurity, 5G, and AI Research Alliance

The UNAM, through the Institute of Applied Sciences and Technology (ICAT), renewed its collaboration agreement with Huawei Technologies de México. The alliance seeks to continue research in cybersecurity, telecommunications, and emerging technologies, in addition to specialized training and talent development.

Paola Becerra Named President of SAP México

SAP México has appointed Paola Becerra as its new president, marking a leadership change set to take effect on April 1, 2025.  She takes over from Rui Botelho, who transitions to lead SAP’s operations in Brazil after overseeing the company’s direction in Mexico throughout 2024.

Microsoft Secures 1.5 Million Carbon Removal Credits in India

Microsoft has signed an agreement with UK-based Climate Impact Partners to purchase 1.5 million carbon removal credits from a large-scale afforestation project in India. The project, located in Madhya Pradesh’s Panna region, covers 20,000ha and is expected to remove 3Mt of CO₂ over three decades.  

TSMC Eyes Joint Venture to Operate US Intel’s Foundries

TSMC, the world's largest contract chipmaker, has proposed to NVIDIA, AMD, Broadcom, and Qualcomm the creation of a joint venture to operate Intel's foundries. According to Reuters, TSMC would acquire a stake of no more than 50% in the venture, but talks are at an early stage.
