Every year, Las Vegas becomes the epicenter of technological innovation, hosting the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), bringing together world leaders in technology across various industries, with industry leaders and visionaries showcasing groundbreaking advancements. CES 2025 was no exception, hosting over 4,500 exhibitors and attracting more than 141,000 attendees, including more than 6,000 media representatives from around the globe. This year, artificial intelligence took center stage, with its potential to revolutionize industries and redefine how we live, work, and communicate.

The exponential growth of AI continues to generate global interest. According to Statista, machine learning and natural language processing (NLP) are the cornerstones of a burgeoning sector predicted to impact global GDP by over US$2 trillion in the coming years. As technology evolves, so does the perception of AI: while some remain skeptical, many increasingly see its benefits in enhancing productivity, improving decision-making, and driving innovation.

Highlights from CES 2025: AI and Predictive Computing

At CES 2025, Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, delivered an inspiring keynote on the transformative power of AI and predictive computing. Huang introduced two groundbreaking products: the DIGITS AI supercomputer and the GeForce RTX Blackwell GPUs. These technologies are reshaping simulation workflows by enabling the predictive rendering of 30 million pixels using only 2 million. This leap in efficiency is revolutionizing industries such as design, gaming, and virtual reality by offering richer and more immersive experiences with optimized resource use.

Huang also declared during his speech the dawn of the "AI PCs era," signaling a new age of devices equipped with AI capabilities for predictive analysis, operational optimization, and adaptability. AI PCs promise to learn from user behavior, anticipate needs, and enhance productivity in real time. This paradigm shift empowers industries like mobility, manufacturing, and media to leverage smarter, faster, and more efficient computing solutions.

Another prominent trend at CES was predictive AI, which leverages machine learning to identify patterns and anticipate future outcomes. Predictive AI is already streamlining operations in logistics, finance, and healthcare by optimizing processes, improving customer experiences, and minimizing risks. NVIDIA’s innovations illustrate how hardware and AI software convergence drives transformative change across diverse sectors.

AI: A Global and Regional Perspective

Generative AI, which refers to systems capable of creating text, images, music, and more, is another spotlight at CES. Between 2019 and 2023, Google released 40 generative AI models — twice as many as OpenAI, the creators of ChatGPT. Companies like Amazon Web Services are fueling this momentum by launching initiatives like the Generative AI Accelerator, which supports startups innovating in AI-driven solutions.

Notably, three Mexican startups have made their mark in this field. Hero Guest, a platform revolutionizing employee training, Finerio Connect, which optimizes financial services through generative AI, and Kuona, specializing in price and demand optimization, showcase how Latin America is rapidly embracing AI. Mexico, in particular, has emerged as a leader, ranking fourth globally in the growth of industrial robot installations.

The AI sector’s market potential is vast, with projections reaching US$1.6 trillion globally by 2030. In Latin America, the AI software market alone is expected to generate US$4.6 billion by 2025, signaling unprecedented opportunities for innovation and economic growth in the region and for boosting companies’ performance.

Transformative Benefits of AI

While AI adoption has sparked debates about automation’s impact on jobs and education, perceptions vary across regions. Countries like Mexico, Brazil, and Argentina exceed the global average (52%) of citizens recognizing AI's benefits, reflecting optimism about its potential to enhance productivity and create new opportunities.

AI integration is driving measurable outcomes in businesses worldwide. Automation of processes, real-time data analysis, fraud detection, and elimination of geographical barriers are just a few benefits. For example, the World Wellbeing Project, based at the University of Pennsylvania, is leveraging AI to develop mental health interventions by analyzing language patterns to detect psychological and physical health issues. This highlights AI’s potential to address complex societal challenges and help performances in all types of sectors and industries.
