Ariston Group to Invest MX$157M in Saltillo Water Heater Plant
Ariston Group, an Italian thermal solutions company, announced plans to invest MX$157 million (US$7.7 million) in a new plant in Saltillo,Coahuila. The project is expected to create more than 120 formal jobs while supplying gas and electric water heaters to the United States and Canada.
Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez said this project brings total domestic and foreign investment in Coahuila, during his administration, to MX$150 billion (approximately US$70 billion). Construction is scheduled to begin in October 2025, with operations expected to start in early 2026.
“In Coahuila, we are facilitators, creating the best conditions for companies to operate successfully,” the governor said, highlighting the state’s security, labor peace, infrastructure, and skilled workforce.
Jiménez also emphasized the state’s coordination with the Army, National Guard, Navy, public prosecutors, and local authorities to maintain security, and noted the completion of judicial reforms to protect both citizens and investors.
Luis Olivares, Coahuila’s Minister of Economy, said Ariston Group’s decision reflects the international business sector’s confidence in the state, citing public safety, rule of law, and strong infrastructure as key factors for attracting investment. Saltillo Mayor Javier Díaz González described the city as “the safest and most competitive in Mexico,” providing an ideal environment for business growth.
Rodrigo Basañez, CEO, Ariston Group Mexico, said Saltillo was chosen because of the local workforce and regional advantages. “With this expansion, we will not only increase our capacity to serve the domestic market, but we will also strengthen our export position, which already represents 35% of our sales," said Basañez.
The investment, financed with reinvested earnings, will be distributed in different phases, beginning with US$2.3 million in the first year, followed by US$2.6 million in the following two years, and US$2.8 million in the remaining years, with no specific dates.
The project involves the construction of a 40,000m² built-to-suit building on a 75,000m² lot, equipped with the infrastructure to support increased production, including the expansion of raw material and finished product warehouses
