Soledad Emerges as Investment Hub with New Infrastructure
The municipality of Soledad de Graciano Sanchez in San Luis Potosi is positioning itself as a growing center for investment, attracting national and international companies and generating new jobs, officials say.
Mayor Juan Manuel Navarro highlights the opening of a Walmart Supercenter in Plaza de las Huastecas as a milestone in the city’s economic growth. “The message is clear: Soledad is an attractive municipality for investment, offering growth potential, consumer capacity, and legal certainty,” Navarro says.
The mayor says that municipal efforts to streamline regulations and improve administrative efficiency have been critical to attracting investment. The renovation of Plaza de las Huastecas, previously abandoned, serves as an example of these policies in action, adds Navarro.
In addition to Walmart, Soledad will see new projects including Starbucks and expansions in Plaza Citadina, featuring businesses from the financial, textile, service, and food sectors. Walmart invested over MX$180 million (US$9.8 million) in the project, creating 130 direct jobs and offering a modern store equipped with digital tools to enhance the shopping experience.
Navarro says that the municipality’s economic strategy aims to impact both urban areas and surrounding communities, while fostering a secure and competitive environment for businesses.
“The development of Soledad is integral, benefiting families, businesses, and investors alike,” Navarro says, underscoring the municipality’s commitment to creating conditions that encourage investment and long-term growth.
