Aeroméxico has introduced high-speed Wi-Fi to its Embraer 190 fleet, in partnership with satellite communications provider Viasat. Currently, six Embraer 190 aircraft operated by Aeromexico Connect, the airline’s regional subsidiary, are equipped with the service. The airline plans to expand coverage to 11 aircraft by the end of 2025 and complete installation across all 34 jets by early 2027.

This upgrade makes Aeroméxico the only airline in Latin America to offer free onboard messaging fleet-wide, further enhancing passenger connectivity and digital services.

“Our goal is to deliver an exceptional travel experience. Adding Wi-Fi to our Embraer 190 fleet ensures passengers stay connected with free messaging and reliable internet for streaming, social media, and more, using Viasat’s high-quality service,” said Andrés Castañeda, Executive Vice President of Digital and Customer Experience, Aeroméxico.

The phased rollout includes infrastructure upgrades and antenna installations, ensuring internet access on regional routes served by Aeromexico Connect. The airline expects one-third of the fleet to be Wi-Fi-enabled by the end of the year.

Aeroméxico and Embraer have collaborated since 2007, when the airline first integrated the Brazilian manufacturer’s regional aircraft. Its partnership with Viasat began in 2018.

“Our focus remains on meeting customer expectations while solidifying our position as a modern airline dedicated to innovation and quality,” the airline stated.
