Aeroméxico has added a new Boeing 737 MAX-9 to its fleet, marking the airline's 100th aircraft from the Boeing 737 family. This latest addition will serve short- and medium-haul routes across Mexico, the United States, Canada, Central America, and the Caribbean. With this delivery, Aeroméxico's total fleet now stands at 161 aircraft, reaffirming its status as Mexico’s largest airline.

The Boeing 737 MAX-9 comprises approximately 2 million individual parts and features an internal wiring system spanning 67.5 kilometers. Its fuselage required nearly 200 liters of paint. Aeroméxico first introduced the Boeing 737 to its fleet in 2003 with the 737-752 model, which had a capacity of 124 passengers.

Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) recently completed the delivery of six Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to Aeroméxico under an existing lease agreement. This transaction included three 737-8 and three 737-9 models. To date, Aeroméxico has received 20 Boeing 737 aircraft from DAE since the partnership began over a decade ago.

Aeroméxico now operates the largest fleet of 737 MAX aircraft in Latin America, with a total of 67 units: 42 737-8s and 25 737-9s. According to aviation data firm Cirium, the airline plans to add 11 more aircraft of this model within the next two years. DAE is Aeroméxico’s third-largest lessor, managing 15 aircraft, following Air Lease Corporation with 20 and AerCap with 17.

While Aeroméxico has not announced new fleet agreements, it is evaluating options to replace its 38 Boeing 737-800s. Additionally, the airline is considering retiring its 37 Embraer 190s, potentially replacing them with more Boeing 737 MAX units.
