According to Delta Airlines, initial reports confirm there were no fatalities, though several passengers sustained injuries. Ornge, the province’s medical transport service, says that three people suffered critical injuries, including a child, a man in his 60s, and a woman in her 40s, reports abc News.

The flight was carrying a total of 80 people, including 76 passengers and four crew members. Following the incident, Toronto Pearson International Airport was temporarily closed, and Delta Airlines has been working to assist affected travelers.

Emergency teams responded promptly to the scene. Toronto Pearson Airport acknowledged the incident via a statement on X, assuring that all passengers and crew had been accounted for.

Delta Airlines confirmed its awareness of the situation, stating that its primary focus remains on supporting those affected. Endeavor Air, a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Airlines based in Minneapolis, says it is cooperating with authorities in the ongoing investigation.

The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA) also issued a statement urging the public not to speculate as investigations continue, emphasizing the importance of gathering accurate information and providing necessary support, as AFA crew were working on the flight.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford expressed relief that there were no casualties, stating on X: “Provincial officials are in contact with the airport and local authorities and will provide any help that is needed.”
