INDEX Reynosa Reappoints Alfredo Guajardo as President for 2026
The Export Manufacturing Association of Reynosa (INDEX Reynosa) has unanimously ratified Alfredo Guajardo as president of the organization for the 2026 term during its first monthly assembly of the year, reinforcing continuity in leadership for the regional export manufacturing sector. Members of the association also approved the appointment of the new board of directors, underscoring the importance of stability and the strengthening of strategic committees that support the development of the maquiladora and export manufacturing industry in Reynosa and the broader border region.
The new INDEX Reynosa board is led by Luis Méndez as executive director, with Jesús González serving as first vice president and head of the Finance Committee. Raúl Setién was named treasurer and secretary, while Mariza Gutiérrez will oversee the Security, Health and Environment Committee. Mike Myers was appointed to represent the INDEX Foundation, and César Rendón will lead the Industrial Relations Committee.
Additional appointments include Abraham Guerra as head of the Import and Export Committee, Javier Castillo leading the Supplier Development Committee, and Enrique Castro overseeing the Social Responsibility Committee.
Following his reappointment, Guajardo acknowledged member companies, advisers and partners for their confidence, emphasizing teamwork and unity within the industrial sector. “Thank you to the companies, the advisers and everyone present. It is an honor for me to hold this position, especially because of the teamwork through which we continue to move forward and the willingness to strengthen the industry and face the challenges ahead,” Guajardo said.
The assembly also featured presentations from experts in tax and customs compliance, who outlined new reforms and regulatory guidelines taking effect this year for companies involved in import and export manufacturing. Participating specialists included Eduardo Pol Maldonado of O&P Tax Consulting Group, Daniel Salazar of London 30 Consulting, Flor Torres of CIC World Trade Services, and Everardo Sustaita of Agencia Aduanal Sustaita.
Late last year, Index Nuevo Laredo unanimously re-elected Enrique Morán Romero as president of its board of directors for the 2026 term during its General Assembly held on Nov. 10, reported MBN.
Morán will serve from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2026. Under his leadership, Index Nuevo Laredo has strengthened its role as a key connector between industry, government, and civil society, promoting initiatives that support competitiveness, innovation and human capital development in one of Mexico’s most important manufacturing hubs.
The association has also expanded coordination with federal, state and local authorities, as well as business chambers and binational organizations. These alliances have contributed to economic and social growth along the US-Mexico border, particularly in Nuevo Laredo, a major center for export manufacturing.
Morán’s continuity is expected to support ongoing strategic projects, including improvements to industrial infrastructure, the promotion of national and foreign investment, and the technological modernization of member companies. Index Nuevo Laredo also aims to strengthen sustainability efforts and reinforce the region’s competitive environment.
With the new term, Index Nuevo Laredo reaffirmed its commitment to advancing regional development through collaboration with public, private, academic and social institutions. The organization emphasized its goal of maintaining the maquiladora industry as a driver of economic growth and community well-being in northern Mexico.
