Diehl Aviation, a leading German manufacturer of aircraft parts, has commenced construction on its inaugural manufacturing plant in Querétaro, Mexico. This new facility represents a significant investment of at least US$45 million and is set to become a pivotal component in Diehl's global supply chain, particularly for the Airbus A220.

Situated in the PyMe Industrial Park, the plant will initially span over 8,200 square meters, with future expansion plans adding an additional 4,000 to 6,000 square meters. Diehl Aviation has emphasized the strategic benefits of this location, noting its close proximity to major aerospace clients such as Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, and several prominent regional airlines.

"This new site in Mexico will bolster Diehl Aviation’s collaboration with key customers and enhance our market competitiveness," the company said in a press release.

Production at the new plant is slated to begin in mid-2025, with the first product being the extra-large overhead bins for the Airbus A220. These bins will be distributed to assembly facilities in Mirabel, Quebec, Canada, and Mobile, Alabama, USA. The plant is projected to create around 500 jobs.
