The Mexico City Airport Group (GACM) has announced its membership in the Airports Council International for Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC), a move aimed at strengthening its position as a key airport operator in the region. This collaboration will enable the exchange of knowledge and best practices in airport infrastructure and services among public and private industry stakeholders.

GACM, operating under the Ministry of the Navy (SEMAR), oversees eight international airports, two national airports, and five aerodromes, including Mexico City International Airport (AICM). AICM accounts for 25.7% of the country’s air passenger traffic and is recognized as the second-best connected airport in Latin America. By joining ACI-LAC, GACM aims to enhance air connectivity in Mexico and neighboring countries, according to A21.

“We are delighted to welcome the Mexico City Airport Group, which plays a vital role in regional connectivity. Their participation will strengthen their leadership and contribute to the sustainable growth of airport infrastructure in Latin America and the Caribbean,” said Rafael Echevarne, General Director, ACI-LAC, which represents the interests of over 270 airports across 34 countries.
