GE Aerospace will invest US$650 million in manufacturing facilities and the supply chain for 2024. As the company prepares to transition into a standalone entity this spring, the investment aims to propel production, enhance quality, and cater to the needs of both commercial and defense clients.

The investment plan encompasses nearly US$450 million designated for 22 GE Aerospace facilities dispersed across 14 states in the United States. These funds will be channeled into new machinery, inspection equipment, building upgrades, and safety enhancements. H. Lawrence Culp, Jr., Chairman and CEO, GE, highlighted the significance of these investments, stating, "These investments are part of the next chapter for GE Aerospace, supporting cutting-edge equipment and safety enhancements that will help us meet our customers’ growing needs."

Key Investments include US$54 million for additive (3D printing) machines and tooling, aimed at boosting the production of military rotorcraft engine components and narrow and wide body commercial aircraft engines. Additionally, US$30 million will support engine assembly and testing for US and allied military helicopter and fighter jet engines. Similar investments will be made across several facilities.

The remaining US$100 million will be directed towards reinforcing the US supply chain, assisting suppliers in building and maintaining the capacity and capabilities necessary for sustained growth. Furthermore, approximately US$100 million will be invested in international sites in North America, Europe, and India to support global operations. GE Aerospace plans to hire over 1,000 employees for external positions at its US factories.
